There is a feature in iOS 8 that I am sure most parents don't even know exists. It is called Guided Access and it is a parent's best friend. Once enabled the current app is locked. Your kid cannot use the volume, sleep or home buttons until the set time limit ends or you disable it.

Rest calmly knowing you do not have to be "that guy" whose phone goes off in his brother's wedding. Take the simple step of utilizing an incredibly underutilized feature since iOS 7. Do Not Disturb can silence all calls, alerts and notifications, but you have to enable it!
The attempts to make digital payments mainstream and accessible to all have been fast and furious over the last several years. Apple may be the company that finally has the power to make it a reality.
